In other words, the Okazaki summer festival.
Yes, this is what today's short post will be about. ^^
Almost every inhabited place in Japan has its own festival. There are numerous festivals all over Japan and reasons for celebrating and processes of these festivals are truly various - from dignifying kami (Shintō "gods") or rice harvest to carrying giant phallus throughout the city while screaming happily under its mighty phallic shadow. I'd like to carry this thing sometime, too. ^^
...
Anyway, I was lucky enough to witness the Okazaki summer festival held on 1st August. To tell the truth, I was a lot more enthusiastic about the day after, because for 2nd August, the great Okazaki fireworks had been planned (fear do not, I have it duly documented O_o ). But I still went to check out Okazaki Kankō Natsu Matsuri and since it was my first Japanese festival ever, I found it very interesting and quite funny as well.
There is not much to babble about, so I've, as usual, prepared some photos and videos. Enjoy!
(For those interested in Japanese festivals, see Wikipedia and other sources). ^^
